My Philosophy

I firmly believe that children are the future. The greatest investment a nation could make would be to invest in the education of its children. I also believe that the purpose of a teacher should not be solely focused on their students passing tests and moving on to the next grade. The job of a teacher is to scaffold, guide, and inspire children towards developing an intrinsic desire to learn and be successful.
My educational goals are geared towards early-childhood and elementary school because I enjoy working with young children more than any other people. I have such a detailed memory of my childhood and what it was like. I remember what it was like to feel so small, sometimes forgotten, and often times hopeless. I remember what it felt like to create, dream, and imagine. I can connect so well with children because I love and value my childhood so much and realize that everything I am now stems from what I learned then.
I do not dream of whiteboards, worksheets, and lectures. I dream of making a life-long difference to children. My goal, above all else, is to look back on my life one day and know that I helped children to value their educations, love learning, and  helped children who never thought they could be anything realize they have what it takes to be anyone they choose to be.
